RARE SIGNATURE OF JECKLEIN, CUT SIGNATURE GLUED TO PHOTO. VG++
JECKELN FRIEDRICH: (1895-1946) German SS-Obergruppenfuhrer of World War II, Knight’s Cross winner with Oak Leaves. Jeckeln served as a Higher SS and Police Leader in the occupied Soviet Union and was the commander of one of the largest collection of Einsatzgruppen death squads and was personally responsible for ordering and organizing the deaths of over 100,000 Jews, Romani and others designated by the Nazis as ‘undesirables’. Jeckeln was convicted by a Soviet military tribunal in Riga and executed in 1946. Fountain pen ink signature (‘Jeckeln’) with typescript rank as SS-Oberfuhrer below and one additional line of typescript text above, on a slim oblong 12mo piece featuring two lines of text, evidently neatly clipped from the conclusion of a letter or document, and also featuring an official circular purple ink stamp incorporating the Nazi eagle and swastika.
