FRITZ FESSMANN
(1913 – 1944) German Panzer officer, recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. Fessmann was killed in action on 11 October 1944 when a Soviet shell exploded before him, throwing him back into his vehicle and killing him instantly. Rare war-date 2.5 x 3.25 in. b/w, a waist-up image of Fessmann in uniform, prominently wearing his Knight’s Cross, Iron Cross, First Class, and Panzer Assault Badge, signed across the chest with poor contrast. Fine condition.
Fritz Fessmann ou Fritz Feßmann, né le 25 décembre 1913 à Urbach et mort au combat le 11 octobre 1944 à Sovetsk, est un militaire allemand, officier durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
Il a été décoré à titre posthume de la croix de chevalier de la croix de fer avec feuilles de chêne et glaives.
