Nice rare autograph on hoffmann card Siegfried Schnell ( Zielenzig , 23 January 1916 – Narva , 25 February 1944 ) was a German aviator who served in the Luftwaffe during the Second World War .He is credited with 93 victories.He later participated in the battle of England as a second lieutenant and when he reached 20 wins, on 9 November 1940, he was decorated with the Knight’s Cross ; on 24 June 1941 he became commander of 9 / JG 2 and on 8 July he destroyed three Spitfires touching 40 victories earning him for this, the following day, the Cross of Knight with Oak leaves : at that time no Jagdgeschwader pilot had so many victories. On 19 August 1942 , on the occasion of the raid on Dieppe , Schnell increased his record to 70 wins against five Spitfires; the 80th success came on April 4, 1943..He managed to get the better of three enemy aircraft before being killed on February 25, 1944 by a Soviet fighter, while he was piloting a Bf 109 G-6
