HEINRICH GOTTFRIED VON VIETINGHOFF/(1887 – 1952) German general and a recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves. Vietinghoff commanded the 5th Panzer Division and took part in the invasion of Poland, led the German XLVI Panzer Corps in the invasion of Yugoslavia and in Barbarossa, and served as the supreme German commander in Italy.
