HERMANN GOERING SIGNED LETTER/
Great war-date as Generalfeldmarshall on official letterhead, 1p. Berlin, Feb. 26, 1940, thanking a Herr Pfotenhauer for forwarding Vitamin C preparations for German troops. Pfotenhauer was director of Merck Pharmaceutical House in Darmstadt – one of the world’s largest drug companies in Germany that produced vitamins, narcotics, and other chemicals for the German army. Goering signs at the conclusion in blue indelible pencil. Horizontal fold with some minor foxing, two small chips and one small tear to the edges, evidence of previous mounting on the verso. Very good, with a translation. Of course, Goring himself was addicted to morphine, and nearly the entire German army was heavily drugged with methamphetamines at many times.
