GERMAN “J” IDENTITY CARD ISSUED TO A JEW; Berlin, Feb. 13, 1939, a “Kennkarte” issued to Bruno “Israel” Wolff, a businessman born in 1894. The book is stamped “J” on the cover and again within, signifying that the owner is “Juden”, or a Jew. The addition of “Israel” to his name was required to further identify the bearer as a Jew.
