GAULEITER HINRICH LOHSE LETTER TO *ROSENBERG* 1940, Letter to *ALFRED ROSENBERG* from Nazi Gauleiter LOHSE, 1940
HINRICH LOHSE
(1896 – 1964) German politician who served as the Reich Commissioner for the Ostland from 1941 to 1944. He directed his underlings to only give Ghetto inmates the most miniscule of food rations—just enough to keep them alive until the “final solution” could officially get underway. Sentenced to ten years hard labor. Fine association T.L.S. on his gauleiter’s letterhead, Kiel, May 7, 1941 to ALFRED ROSENBERG (1893-1946), influential ideologue of the Nazi Party. Lohse mentions he has received “The Handbook to the Rome Question” and thanks him for inscribing the work to him, adding: “…It is a real treasure for the leadership of the movement…”.
