ILSE HESS/(1900-1995) Wife of Rudolf Hess and postwar supporter of the “Stille Hilfe” relief association for fugitive SS officers. Pair of signed items, includes: In German, 2pp. Gailenberg, July 4, 1979, to Edward A. Schaefer, castigating her correspondent for sending visitors to her door late at night while she was sick in bed. She signs at the conclusion in blue ink. Shows a vertical fold, with ink emendations in the text, else very good.
