GENERAL MARK CLARK/(1896 – 1984) American general commanded the landings at Salerno and Anzio against the forces of Kesselring. Good pair of signed items includes: 8 x 10 in. b/w showing the general in uniform seated at a desk with an American flag in the background. Clark signs boldly in black ink with good contrast adding the transcription: ‘Gene W. Reaves With best wishes’. Fine. WITH: Letter on ‘The Citadel’ letterhead 1p. Charleston Jan. 6 1969 forwarding autographed first day covers and a ‘small autographed photo’ (not present). Clark signs at the conclusion in blue ink. Mailing folds, fine.
