RARE/ Nazi leader considered the ideologist of Nazism, Reichsminister of the eastern territories, executed at Nuremberg. Signed and inscribed book “Rosenberg”, his “Schriften und Reden 1917-1921″ (“Writings and Speeches 1917-1921″), [Munich: Hoheneichen-Velag], 1943, 624pp. 8vo. Rosenberg signs boldly on the front flyleaf in black ink, adding the dedication “Party member G. Ebert with thanks for his 10 years’ service on my staff”, and the date “24.1.44″. Shows toning to the pages overall and some light, scattered foxing, with notable bumps and wear to the blue cloth covers, else very good. GEORGE EBERT was a member of the NSDAP “Aussenpolitisches Amt” (“Foreign Policy Office”), or APA, administered by Rosenberg. During the occupation of Paris, Ebert discovered a deserted Masonic temple and guarded it against looters, so that its library and museum collections could be turned over to German officials. This acquisition gave rise to the “Einsatzstab Reichsleiter Rosenberg” (“Reichsleiter Rosenberg Task Force”), which stole cultural property from occupied nations on a massive scale during World War II.
