GENERAL GERHARD ENGEL/(1906 – 1976) German general who commanded several divisions after serving as an adjutant to Adolf Hitler participating in action at Aachen the Hurtgen Forest the Battle of the Bulge and in the battle of Halbe. A recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves. Post-war S.P. 3.5 x 5.5 in. showing a chest-up view of the general in uniform prominently wearing his Knight’s Cross. Engel signs at the bottom in blue ink adding rank. Fine.
